What is the Discovery family of television networks?
Our U.S. Networks include Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, Travel Channel, Discovery Health Channel, Discovery Times Channel, Discovery Home Channel, Discovery Kids Channel, The Science Channel, Military Channel, Discovery en Espanol, HD Theater and FitTV.

How do I find out airdates of one of your shows?
Our schedules are online, and there are a few ways to find the program information you're looking for:

  • You can look at all of our U.S. Networks TV schedules at once: view schedules 
  • You can look at the weekly schedule for each of our U.S. Networks-go to the specific network you're interested in and click on Weekly Schedule.
  • You can look at the daily schedule for each of our U.S. Networks-go to the specific network you're interested in and click on Daily Schedule.
  • You can also use the View the Calendar function in each network's schedule area to go to a specific day in the current month.
  • Or you can utilize the search box on each channel's homepage if you have a specific program or genre in mind.
  • If you still can't find what you're looking for, you can send us an e-mail by clicking here.

What program information is available in your online schedules?

  • By clicking on a Series Title you can get a list of all airings for titles in that series for the current month along with airdates.
  • By clicking on the Episode Title you can get a description of the program, its parental rating and whether it is closed-captioned. This page will also allow you to get an e-mail reminder of the program by using the Remind Me feature.

Can I get a home video of a program I saw on one of your networks?
Some of our programs are available on home video. You can find out which can be purchased by visiting the video section of the online Discovery Channel Store by clicking here.

Are transcripts of your programs available to viewers?
We do not currently offer transcripts for our programming. If you have further questions about this, you can e-mail Viewer Relations by clicking here.

Sorry, but we don't have a research staff to help gather facts for specific projects. We suggest you search this website for related information, as well as doing other online searches and visiting your local library.

Can you help me with questions related to specific health issues?
We don't have a research staff to do this, but our web site has an in-depth database about many diseases and conditions in addition to healthy lifestyle references. Can I get any of the recipes or project information demonstrated on your daytime shows?
Information like this may be found in the Fan Site areas of this web site-this information is not in the program descriptions in the TV schedules. Unfortunately, if you can't find what you're looking for on the website, neither Viewer Relations nor the TV networks have any further information.

When are program schedules made available on Discovery.com?
Program schedules are made available 1-2 weeks in advance of the month of air. Any additional schedule changes are made as soon as possible.

How can I contact you with programming comments or questions?

If you need to speak to a Viewer Relations agent about our programs, please call us at 1-859-342-8439 between the hours of 9 am and 6 pm eastern time Monday through Friday. These are the two most efficient ways to contact us. Comments or questions directed to anyone else at Discovery Communications will be forwarded to Viewer Relations-and this will mean it will take us longer to follow up.

Who can I contact about getting your network added to my cable/satellite service?
Our TV networks are available on cable systems throughout the U.S. and via direct-to-home satellite (DBS) and C-band (TVRO). To have a specific network added to your channel lineup today, please call your local cable operator, satellite provider or C-band programming distributor.

Who can I contact about a video or audio reception problem?
Please call the customer service department of your local cable operator, satellite provider or C-band programming distributor to report reception problems.

How can I find out about products related to programming?
Go to the online Discovery Store and add the appropriate key word (e.g., Trading Spaces) to bring up all related products.

How can I find out where Discovery Channel Stores are located?
Go to online Discovery Channel Store and click on store locator.

How can I see a studio program being filmed, submit a video for a home video clips program or find out more about a contest/sweepstakes?

Is Discovery Communications programming closed-captioned?
Many of the programs on our U.S. Networks are closed-captioned. Our Networks meet or exceed the Federal Communications Commission requirements for closed-captioning of programming. If you need information on a specific program, consult the program schedules on this web site, where closed-captioned programs are indicated by "CC."

Why do I get infomercials instead of programming?
During certain late night hours of each day (for example, 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. ET/PT for Discovery Channel), some of the Discovery Networks may contain paid programming or infomercials. Please go to the "TV Schedules" on our website to see the specific programming schedules for your favorite Discovery Networks.

What is Discovery Communications policy on the submission of program ideas?
We are only able to accept proposals from established production companies. If you are an individual with a program idea or are interested in being talent on a program, you should do your own research on production companies and contact them. What is Discovery Communications policy on the submission of product ideas?
While DCI encourages product ideas, we have no official mechanism to receive these from the general public. The best way to submit an idea is to send it to Viewer Relations.

The Discovery family of networks produces video programming for Cable in the Classroom. Each program is available for teachers to tape from on-air and then use in the classroom for free for one year. Examples of Cable in the Classroom programming are: Assignment Discovery (Discovery Channel), TLC Elementary School (TLC), World Odysseys (The Travel Channel), Discovery Health Classroom (Discovery Health Channel), and Champions of the Wild (Animal Planet). In addition, Discovery Channel School offers teachers a library of over 600 videos, covering all classroom subjects, with rights cleared for classroom use. I'm a viewer in Canada-are the networks the same in the U.S. and Canada, and how can I get more information about the programming I receive?
Discovery Networks International brings the highest quality programming, brands and services to audiences in more than 150 countries and territories, including Canada. With the exception of The Learning Channel (TLC) and Military Channel, the Discovery Networks available in Canada are different than the Discovery Networks available in the United States.
