Tanner is a very mature teenager who loves hanging out with his dad at hot rod swap meets on weekends. Wade, Tanner's father, is teaching Tanner everything he knows about hot rods. Tanner's mom, Tammie, says that Wade is very patient with Tanner and the bond they share for cars is incredible.

Tanner knows that his dad's dream is to fix up the 1967 Chevy Chevelle, but Wade has recently gone back to work so his time with the car and Tanner is limited. Tanner, the youngest "accomplice" ever on the show, wants to thank him for being such a great dad with a surprise from Overhaulin'.
