With cars, you don't always get what you pay for. Many stock cars actually contain more performance than they advertise. In some cases, carmakers limit performance to conform to emissions and fuel economy standards. In other cases, a car just needs a little modification to let their inner beast out. Check out the top 10 performance-enhancing parts to see how you can rev up your ride.

Turbocharger

Turbochargers use pressure from an engine's exhaust to power a supercharger. The supercharger forces more air into the engine, resulting in more power. A downside of a turbocharger is that it causes the engine to run hotter. If you add a turbocharger to your car, you'll need to find a way to cool the engine. Installing an intercooler is one way to do that. Turbochargers are a very efficient way to get more performance out of an engine, since they are powered by exhaust, which is essentially the engine's waste.
