How-To: Waxing a Car

  • Never wax car in direct sunlight.
  • Wash and dry thoroughly.
  • Place about a half dollar-size clump of non-abrasive wax onto a damp car sponge.
  • Rub the wax onto the car using small circles, avoiding seams and non-painted surfaces.
  • Work your way section by section over the entire surface of the car.
  • Allow time to dry before rubbing wax off car.
  • Use a soft cloth to rub off the wax in the same order as it was applied.
  • Shake out cloth to avoid wax build-up or streaking.
  • Inspect car for residual wax.
  • Use a cheese cloth to polish the surface of the car.
  • Don't leave wax on car for more than two hours or it will be difficult to remove.
