- Secure the position of car with blocks and set emergency brake.
- Check car's manual for recommended oil and oil filter.
- Place basin under oil pan and remove drain plug.
- Allow all of the oil to drain and remove oil filter (an oil wrench may be necessary).
- Replace drain plug.
- Apply a small amount of clean oil to the gasket of a new oil filter for a clean seal and install snugly.
- With drain plug and filter in place, refill with recommended oil through the oil cap at the top of the engine.
- Check level with dipstick.
