  • Brake pads are equipped with sensors. If you hear a scraping sound coming from your wheels it may be a sign of brake wear.
  • If your car vibrates when brake is engaged it may be an indication that your brake pads are worn.
  • To check your brakes visibly, remove wheel to expose the rotor.*
  • After you remove the wheel, the brake pad should be visible and thickness determined.
  • Rotate the rotor to inspect the inner and outer pads. Sometimes the brakes wear unevenly so check the entire pad.
  • While the wheel is off, check hoses for cracking or other deterioration.

*Note: Whenever you need to jack car from ground, ensure that proper steps are taken to prevent car from rolling.
