1965 Oldsmobile JetStar 88:

The lowest-priced full-size Oldsmobile one could purchase in 1965 was the JetStar 88.  This car was priced at $3,000, a nice entry point for the Oldsmobile lineup.  Produced from 1964 through 1966, the JetStar offered a lot of fun in a small package.  Equipped with a 330 cubic-inch V8 producing 260 horsepower, it wasn’t going to set any records but it wasn’t a dud either.

JetStars are difficult to find at auction.  In fact, in the past five years, only one crossed the block in 2005 for $10,000.  Our experts appraised this car at $12,000 so, when combined with its “C” rating on the Sports Car Market Collectability Scale, it came as a bit of a surprise to hear that it sold for $8,500.
